Over the years, Cold Steel's Pendleton Hunters have become enormously popular, and many people have asked for a more affordable Pendleton that will accommodate just about anyone's budget.

In appearance, the Pendleton Lite Hunter strongly resembles Lloyd Pendleton's classic functional designs, with a practical drop point blade, a modest guard, a hollowed bolster area and a flared butt to aid retention in slippery and inclement conditions. The only major changes were the adoption of sub-zero cryo-quenched German 4116 stainless steel and the use of high-impact polypropylene for the handle.

This knife got straight A's in Cold Steel's field-testing, as it is equally adept at field dressing and skinning, holds a decent edge, is easy to sharpen and has proven to be tough as nails.

German 4116 Stainless Steel 
4116 is a fine-grained stainless steel from Germany often used in the pharmaceutical Industry and in high-end kitchen cutlery. Its carbon and chromium content is balanced for excellent corrosion resistance and strength. Capable of taking a very fine, sharp edge, it makes an excellent choice for outdoor hunting applications. 
Cold Steel's 4116 stainless steel is sub-zero cryo-quenched for markedly increased strength, hardness and durability and superior edge-holding potential.
