JOHN LEE GOLDEN AUTUMN KATANA

With this Katana John Lee series is presenting their new premium model.

The blade is made of 12 times folded carbon steel (more than 8000 layers), differentially hardened by clay application 

to 60 HRC at the ha and 40 HRC at the mune. Moreover the blade has been manufactured in Kobuse-style (hard cover, soft core). 

The polisher’s masterly work let the damask structure and the line come to light, enhanced by a mirror finish on the spine.

All decorations (Tsuba, Menuki, Fuchi und Kashira) are handcrafted to show the beauty of the moment with a 

simple autumn scene. These simple but noble decorations are well-matching to the style of the Edo-era (1603-1868).  

The hilt is wrapped with black silk completed with traditional paper-triangles (Hishigami) and original ray skin. 

Two conical Mekugi (pins of bamboo) connect the long handle-end to the hilt.

An inlay made of ray skin has been put into the black glossy varnished scabbard. The scabbard consists of a 

high-class Sageo as well as ends (Koiguchi, Kurigata, Kojiri) of buffalo horn. 

Delivery includes an attractive wooden collector’s box, a printed cloth-bag, seal and certificate.
