MARTO Model 1860 Union Cavalry Officer's Saber, Windlass (MT-500188)

This saber has a blade made of 1065 high-carbon steel, features a wire-wrapped leather handle, and a brass three-branch guard and pommel. Overall length of approx. 100 cm.

This fine reproduction saber is a faithful copy of the ones used. The hand-forged blade is made of British military-spec steel that will flex over 20° and return to true. The leather handle is wire wrapped. The brass, 3-branch guard is nicely hand chased and engraved, as is the brass pommel. The blade is beautifully etched with “U.S.” and “E Pluribus Unum,” along with foliage and military trophies. The steel scabbard has a brass throat, rings, and drag.
